Last week the City of Sultan completed its Phase 1 - Initial Surveys and has now moved onto Phase II - Public Engagement exercises. We’ve begun the Phase II - Public Engagement process at the Annual Return of the Salmon Festival on September 23rd and will continue this process through the fall. We asked City residents and visitors alike about the park and downtown amenities they have currently, and things they would like to see in the Sultan City Parks in the future. The voting is easy and is accomplished by placing a yellow (positive), smiley face or a red (negative), smiley face onto several picture boards of assorted ideas.
In addition, the Phase II - Public Engagement exercise process effort, included similar amenity questions and features for the downtown. It also was asking the respondent what is missing? The Community was eager to participate. A swimming pool received the most votes but also received negative votes. Extending the trail system received a similar number of positive votes with no negative votes.
Look for the visual preference survey to be held in the Council Chambers at the weekly Coffee with the City at 9:30 am, in the City Hall Foyer during Library hours and at the last Farmers Market of the season, this Saturday the 30th, from 10 AM to 2 PM. We are scheduling a series of other events around the Sultan Community as the city continues to seek public engagement on the Sultan 2044 Comprehensive Plan.
